What a crazy weekend it has been. It would have been so simple had we not needed to study! Friday we had a party at my professor´s house. He lives on the outskirts of town and it took us a little while to get there. We went by bus and it took us something like 30-45 minutes to get there. He had such a nice house and he had so much food for us. We all just sat around and talked. Some of the girls were trying to teach people how to salsa dance, but it didn´t really work. We had to take the train back because the buses had stopped running by the time we left. We went to this place called Teatro Kapital, and they were playing all this cheesy American music, like Christina Aguilera and stuff like that. We all went so it was a lot of fun.

Saturday I had to study for the morning (how sad). A bunch of people from the group wanted to go shopping, so I took them to this mall I had found on Calle Serrano. It was me, Rachel, Amy, Candice, and Ricky. Poor Ricky is the only guy in the program, surrounded by 15 females. After we finished shopping, me, Rachel, and Amy went to the Hard Rock Cafe. It was wonderful. We were so excited to be eating somewhere that gave refills on drinks and that had iced tea! Most of us had hamburgers (yum!) and we were so excited to split a brownie sundae. We even noticed that the toilets looked more American!

Yesterday (Sunday) we got up early to go to El Rastro. It is a huge crafty-flea market that is only on Sunday from 10 am - 2 pm. Some of the stuff was really neat and some of it was absolute junk! They block off the streets and it just goes on and on and on and on!!! We were glad we went early because as it got later, more and more people started to show up. I had an old man try to pick my back pocket, but all of my stuff was in my bag which I was holding in front of myself! Ha!

We all met at my place later in the afternoon to study for our test, which is on Tuesday. I thought about 7 people were coming, but everyone but two in our group came -- so there were 14 of us! I felt bad for my host mom, but she didn´t seem to mind. She gave everyone pretzels and ¨Coke Light¨ and they thought she was the best. We studied for about 3 hours.

Last night I was trying yo catch up on my reading for literature, but I was unsuccessful! I did read 80 pages of our first novel, La Busca, but I am supposed to have 140 read for today. Eeeek! Tonight we are going to a bullfight, which I am not exactly pumped about - but I live right down the street from the stadium so I can leave whenever I start to feel the need to --- especially since our test is in the morning.

Well off to read more of La Busca before class! ĦHasta luego!
