2001-07-06 - 1:11 p.m. Today was wonderful because we got to sleep in. The only class which had to meet was the conversation class. We had the last presentations and I went today. I was excited because I got an A. He seemed to really like my presentation. Today was rough though because the presentations ran over and everyone was getting a little restless. We had lunch at the hostelerķa. We had spaghetti, so we ate so much of it... and then they brought out a second course! That is the way they do it here, but I think we went into American mode when they brought us something we were so accustomed to, like spaghetti! We had flan for dessert, which was wonderful. We went to a beach called Baelo Claudia. It was still somewhat cold, but it was really pretty. I didn“t get in the water but instead, just lounged on the towel again. It was neat because the beach was located directly in front of some Roman ruins. When we got back, we all took quick showers and went to our Farewell/Flamenco Dinner. We all dressed up in cute, summery dresses (and Ricky in some shorts) and were a litle shocked to discover just how cold it was. The lady of the house was really nice though, and brough out all these sweaters and blankets for everyone. It was neat though because they had 3 people singing traditional flamenco music, with one of the guys playing the guitar. The guitarist was awesome. Occasionally, the girl would start to dance and it was really awesome. We ate from about 11 pm to 1 am and then returned back to the hostelerķa.
